As a longtime Prime member and a shameless free-game hoarder, I have been waiting for Amazon to reveal its 2026 Prime Gaming lineup. The company has now done exactly that, and the staggered release schedule leading up to Prime Day on July 16 and 17 looks excellent. Prime Day itself usually brings solid discounts on popular games, but I am here for the freebies. This year, Amazon is mixing cloud streaming, classic RPGs, indie gems, and a giant shark. Here is my first-person breakdown of what I will be claiming and why.

Amazon Luna Expands the Freebie Map

Amazon Luna is already available to players in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain, and it has now added Austria, the Netherlands, and Poland. That matters because Luna lets me play games on hardware I already own, such as a Fire TV, without downloading anything. Starting in July, Prime members can play the following titles through Amazon Luna for free:

  • 🏴‍☠️ Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game

  • ☢️ Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition

  • ☢️ Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition

  • 🎮 Fortnite

  • 🎮 Fortnite Battle Royale

  • 🎸 Fortnite Festival

  • 🧱 Lego Fortnite

  • 🏎️ Rocket Racing

  • 🚗 Trackmania

  • ✨ Spells & Secrets

  • ⚔️ Strayed Lights

  • ⛳ A Little Golf Journey

I have to admit, the Fallout inclusions are the ones that grabbed me. Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition and Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition are both massive time sinks, and being able to stream them without installing a thing is a great perk. The Fortnite collection is unsurprising but useful for anyone who wants to hop in with friends. Trackmania and A Little Golf Journey are perfect for short sessions, while Spells & Secrets and Strayed Lights add some indie flavor.

The Free Games I Will Claim First

Beyond Luna, Amazon has confirmed a list of free games that will roll out in two waves. I have organized them in a table because that is how my brain works when I am planning a backlog.

Date Game Platform My take
July 18 Youtubers Life 2 Amazon Games App A management sim about becoming an influencer. I love the balance between trend-based content, paid tasks, and neighbor trust stories.
July 18 Maneater Epic Games Store The ultimate power fantasy. You are a giant shark terrorizing coastal waterways. It is ridiculous and I am here for it.
July 18 Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition Amazon Games App The classic adventure returns with the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion and three new party members. Essential for CRPG fans.
July 25 Cat Quest II GOG Code Play as both a cat and a dog, solo or with a friend. Magic, curious monsters, and a catventure like no other.
July 25 Midnight Fight Express GOG Code A brutal, hyper-kinetic brawling ballet. Use environmental tools and street fighting techniques to level up and take down bozos, cronies, and crime lords.
July 25 Masterplan Tycoon Amazon Games App A resource management game that tests creativity and logistics. Build interconnected product chains and unlock new missions.

Let me expand on a few of these. Youtubers Life 2 starts you from humble beginnings and asks you to take charge of the daily life of a wannabe influencer. I have played similar games before, and the loop of creating trend-based content, completing tasks to earn money, and building trust with neighbors to uncover their stories can be surprisingly addictive. It is not a hardcore strategy game, but it is a great wind-down title.

Maneater is the opposite. It is pure, silly, apex-predator fantasy. I remember playing it on console and laughing at how over-the-top the shark progression is. If you have never tried it, July 18 is your chance. Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is a different beast entirely. It is a classic for a reason, and the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion plus three new party members makes this version the one to revisit. I will be rolling a new character for sure.

Cat Quest II is a delightful co-op option. Playing as both a cat and a dog, exploring their kingdoms, and fighting curious monsters is exactly the kind of lighthearted RPG I want in the middle of summer. Midnight Fight Express is for when I want adrenaline. The combat is fast, brutal, and built around using everything in the environment. Masterplan Tycoon rounds out the list for my logistics brain. Building interconnected chains of products and unlocking new missions is the kind of optimization puzzle that can eat an entire weekend.

My Prime Day 2026 Strategy

I have learned a few things from past Prime Gaming events. Here is how I plan to handle July 2026:

  1. Claim every game immediately. Even if I am not sure about a title, it costs nothing and stays in my library. I can always ignore it later.

  2. Set reminders for July 18 and July 25. The staggered release means I need to check Amazon Games App, Epic Games Store, and GOG on those dates.

  3. Use Luna for instant play. If I am away from my main PC, I can stream Fallout New Vegas or Lego Pirates on a Fire TV. No install, no waiting.

  4. Pair freebies with Prime Day sales. Prime Day on July 16 and 17 usually has discounts on DLC, expansions, and sequels. I will wishlist anything related to the free games.

  5. Redeem GOG codes quickly. Cat Quest II and Midnight Fight Express are GOG codes, so I will redeem them as soon as they appear rather than letting them sit in an email.

At the end of the day, Prime Gaming is one of the few subscription perks I actually use every month. The 2026 July lineup is not just filler. It has big RPGs, a fun co-op adventure, a ridiculous shark game, and a cloud streaming selection that works on devices I already own. With Prime Day on July 16 and 17, the whole month feels like a mini gaming festival. I will be refreshing my Prime Gaming page at midnight, and I suggest you do the same. Free is free, and my backlog is ready.
